Our guest speakers for August 31 are Troy City Schools Superintendent Cynthia Thomas and School Board President Jonathan Cellon, who updated us on the Troy School System and its plans for the year.
Rep. Allen presented a very informative update summarizing the recent State House legislative session to include bills that have been designed to improve State election procedures in the AL. Announced as a candidate for the Republican nomination for the Secretary of State, Rep. Allen discussed his views on providing secure elections for all Alabamians.
Dr. Sullimen is an acclaimed speaker, teacher, coach, and performer with expertise in trombone, chamber brass music, and jazz. He contributes to our community through his involvement with the Troy Arts Council and performs in many regional orchestras.
During the meeting on August 10, the Club recognized Ms. Maggie Hammond and Dr. Earl Ingram as Paul Harris Fellows.
They are excellent community leaders and inspiration for all and we thank them for their service.
Our District Governor, Bruce McNeal, visited our Club and provided an update on the status of Rotary in our District and the challenges and opportunities facing Rotary International.
Troy Football Coach Chip Lindsey spoke at our club meeting on 3rd August.
