On Improvement in IT infrastructure to support online teaching

Our guest was Dr. Joanna Taylor representing Troy City Schools. She talked about improvement in IT infrastructure to support online teaching, reflected on her 20 years of service to our community and informed us about challenges and achievements of our schools. She was hosted by Donna Schubart and Barbara Tatum

Service Project: School Supplies for Students in Need completed successfully

The club donated to Charles Henderson High School, Middle School and Elementary School.

 Our Club purchased over

$600 in school supplies that have been shared with all of the public schools in and around Troy. Thanks to our members for generous donations. Special thanks to Amy Flower for successful execution of this project.

City of Fire Chief, Michael Stephens on the Fire Safety services provide by the Fire Department

Fire Chief, Michael Stephens was our speaker on 18th October. He talked about amazing work done by our fire men in the city. He stressed on following proper fire safety protocol specifically when you smell or see smoke. Our members were glad to know that our area is rated number 2 which is very important when insurance companies decides on insurance premium.

Radio Personality John James McCall was our speaker

John James McCall talked about his program and variety of requests he received from his audience that encompasses all the way to Panama City. He talked about the love and prayer he received during the time he was suffering from Covid-19 virus. He hosts the show with his wife.

Dr. Olliff gave a presentation on the life of Alabama Governor Charles Henderson

At the Troy Rotary Club on September 27.  Dr. Olliff gave a presentation on the life of Alabama Governor Charles Henderson, who was one of the founders of the Troy Rotary Club.  Dr. Palmer who sponsored the program is a Troy Rotarian who serves as Dean of the College of Education at Troy University.

The Market Food Boutique and Eatery will  be opening in the old Sip’s location: Updates Denise and Yanni Tempelis

Denise and Yanni Tempelis, who spoke at the September 20th meeting of the Troy Rotary Club.  Yanni and Denise gave an update on their new location coming to the downtown square in Troy.  The Market Food Boutique and Eatery will  be opening in the old Sip’s location and will be a custom retail food store and restaurant.  Francesca’s Restaurant, also on the Troy Town Square, will also be continuing operation.
